Newly planted vegetated swale
The City of Takoma Park is implementing a landscaping plan that will incorporate environmental landscaping techniques that retain and cleanse stormwater runoff and provide habitat for wildlife. In addition to rain gardens, Spring Park will feature a Piedmont garden, a coastal plain garden, and a vegetated swale. The landscaping is designed to utilize the spring water fed stream located in the park. The landscaping plan was designed by Natural Resources Design, Inc an ecologically focused landscape design firm located in Takoma Park. The project is funded in part from the City of Takoma Park's Stormwater Fund.
