Eastern Middle School Landscaping |
The installation of the Raingarden at Eastern Middle School was undertaken to intercept, detain, and cleanse runoff carried by storm drain outfalls which previously discharged directly into Sligo Creek. The raingarden, which is close to a main entrance of the school, is also an educational showcase for the students and the community. The community can use the garden to learn what they can do at in their backyards to help the environment. This project was funded through a Chesapeake Bay Trust grant.
